02/02/2002	Topic: What is the role of the Leadership 100 Endowment Program in the future of the Orthodox Christian Church in America? Guest: Mr. Arthur Anton Chairman of Leadership 100 ARTHUR C. ANTON was born in Lowell, Massachusetts and is married to Madeline (Kanavos) Anton. They have 4 children and 10 grandchildren. He graduated from Boston University, College of Business Administration, and Class of 1950 with honors. Mr. Anton present activities include: Chairman of the Investment Committee, the Board of Governance Committee and various other Committee positions for Lowell General Hospital. Mr. Anton is very active in the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of North America and he was ordained "Archon Depoutatos" by Archbishop Iakovos on April 04, 1976 this is the highest lay honor the Greek Orthodox Church can bestow. He has been a member of the Archdiocesan Council since 1970; the Nationa1 Chairman of the League of Greek Orthodox Stewards from 1972-1982, he was a Member of Executive Committee from 1972-1994, and a Member of National Finance Committee 1972-1996. Mr. Anton has been the Chairman of many local, regional, and national events for the Church. He was the Chairman of the Leadership 100 Conference in Boston April 30 - May 05, 1997 and was Elected Vice Chairman of Leadership 100 in 1994. In May 2000 he was Elected Chairman of Leadership 100 at their Conference in Washington, DC Mr. Anton has been very active in the following civic and social groups: The Northern Middlesex and the Greater Lowell Chambers of Commerce, the International Fabricare Alumni Association, Lowell Rotary Club, United Fund of Greater Lowell, Community Council of Greater Lowell, Hellenic College, Brookline, MA, and The Order of Ahepa. He has served as chairman for many local, regional, and national fund raising events. Further, he has served as toastmaster for numerous local, regional, and national events. Mr. Anton has served as Director through the years on the following Boards: Lowell Boys Club, Salvation Army, Goodwill Industries, Merrimack Valley United Fund, and the Harvard College Parents Committee, The Bank of New England-North, The Conifer Group ($4 Billion Bank/Holding Company) -Director 1984-1987; the Lowell Five Cent Savings Bank; and the Central Savings Bank. Mr. Anton has been the recipient of many Awards including: Elected "Young Man of the Year" in Greater Lowell 1958, recipient of the 1978 Boston University School of Management Alumni Award, recipient of the "Aristotelian Award" in 1979 by the Order of Ahepa, Lowell General Hospital Award September 19, 1986, recipient of the Religious Heritage of America, business and professional Award in Birmingham. 02/09/2002	Topic: Winter Tour of Hellenic College and Holy Cross School of Theology will be in Ft. Lauderdale to visit the studios of OCN and participate in an interview for Come Receive the Light. Guest: Representatives of Hellenic College and Holy Cross School of Theology HCHC staff leader Sonia Daly along with students Nektarios Antoniou, Marcella Ballasis, Demetrios Kounavis, and Luke Melackrinos will discuss their tour and its theme. The theme is taken from the Gospel of Saint Luke, and underscores that their work is also purposeful and results-oriented: "The harvest is great but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest (Luke 10:2)." <BR The group is quick to point out the two primary reasons for the choice of the theme. 1) To emphasize the fact that there is truly a great need for "laborers" in the Orthodox Church - priests and lay people and 2) To make it clear that Hellenic College and Holy Cross is eager to recruit and educate qualified persons to serve as laborers in the Lord's harvest.
