Lowell's Big Fat Greek Festival LOWELL, MA --You saw "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," the box-office surprise that grossed nearly $350,000,000 worldwide on its way to becoming the highest grossing independent film ever. And you may have even seen the TV spin-off, "My Big Fat Greek Life." But now it's time for the real thing. The Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, in partnership with the city of Lowell, will present "Lowell's Big Fat Greek Festival" Friday through Sunday, June 20-22, on the grounds of the Tsongas Arena.The three-day festival--the parish's 11th celebration of Greek culture and first ever in conjunction with the city--will open Friday at 5pm, and run until 11pm. The hours will be 11am to 11pm on Saturday and 11am to 7pm on Sunday. "This is going to be something special," said Michael Fokas, chairman of this year's festival.
