analyses of musical works, and biographical studies. She is the author of several books on Greek music, poetry, politics and culture. Her translations of a number of Greece’s leading modern poets and prose-writers have been published, including the recently published I Had Three Lives: Selected Poems of Mikis Theodorakis. Presently she heads the Mediterranean Initiative at the Institute for European Studies at Cornell and is an Adjunct Professor in the departments of Classics and Comparative Literature.

She just finished a highly successful engagement at the Cornelia Street Café in Greenwich Village singing the songs of Manos Hadzidakis and Mikis Theodorakis.
